Meet the Instructor
Sensei Gavin Higgins - 3rd Dan
Your classes at Pontypridd Shotokan Karate Club are led by Sensei Gavin Higgins — a dedicated and passionate martial artist with over 15 years of experience in Shotokan Karate.
A former Welsh Champion in both Kata and Kumite, Sensei Gavin has competed at local, national, and international levels, and brings over 5 years of teaching experience to the dojo.
His teaching style blends tradition, discipline, and encouragement — helping every student progress at their own pace, while staying true to the spirit of karate.
